Joe Flint

	Joe Flint, 77, of Du Quoin, passed away at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2002 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Joe had worked and lived al of his life in Du Quoin. He was a retired carpenter working for Dale Williams construction, Bob Eisenhauer construction and Dale Schwinn construction. He was of the non-denominational faith. He was a US Navy veteran of W.W.II. He was a member of the Carpenters Union, 50 year life member Local 707.
He was born July 21, 1924 at Du Quoin, the son of Walter and Lula (Robinson) Flint. He was first married to Imogene Lashbrook, he then married Betty Woodside Smith in 1970 at Du Quoin and she passed away March 22, 1991.
He is survived by four children - Tannya Shockley and husband Ralph of Du Quoin, Phillip Flint and wife Connie of Du Quoin, Cindy Flint Harris of Benton, Monte Flint and wife Valerie of Princeton, Indiana; three step children - Tessie Cochran and husband Bill of Coeur Dalene, Idaho, Pam Goh and husband Andy of Arlington, Texas, Rae Cummins and husband Joe David of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Doris Rodgers of Troy, Texas; one brother, Lyle Flint of Big Sandy, Tennessee; special friend, Beulah Slover of Du Quoin; nine grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one step great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two brothers, Virgil and Gene Flint.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2002 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Jim Holt and Mark Peters officiating. Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin. Interment was in Old Du Quoin Cemetery at Du Quoin.
